Yunus Emre Anatolian Conferences Completed

Our university hosted the Yunus Emre Anatolian Conferences series organized by the Turkish Language Association in Muş.

Yunus Emre Anatolian Conferences, prepared within the scope of 2021 Yunus Emre and Turkish Year events, was held at Prof. Dr. Sabahattin Zaim Conference Hall under the coordination of Muş Governorship, Muş Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate. Gazi University Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Ali Yakıcı attended the conference as a speaker. Muş Deputy Governor Hasan Taş, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Aydın Şanda, and our Assistant Secretary General, Lecturer Ferit Uslu, were also at the conference.
Prof. Dr. Ali Yakıcı stated that, ‘In education, Yunus should be taken as an epitome and a Yunus-like approach should be displayed in order to turn to and acquire knowledge. Because, Yunus is a scholar who composed the lines of his poems based on the principle of ‘one of the spiritual preparations to be made to obtain knowledge is to know that one knows nothing’ in Sufism. Yakıcı also mentioned that Yunus Emre's one world is based on love and the other world is based on knowledge.

Our students, as well as our academic and administrative staff, showed great interest in the conference. The event ended with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Ali Yazıcı by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Aydın Şanda.
