“Meryem” Staged for a Second Time Due to High Demand

In line with Muş Alparslan University's institutional vision in the field of cultural and artistic activities, the 2nd Theatre Days once again highlighted the unifying power of art and its ability to deepen intellectual engagement. Organized under the coordination of the University's Center for Culture and Arts Practice and Research, and in collaboration with Malatya Turgut Özal University and the Muş Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, the events successfully increased interest in theatrical arts.

The closing event featured a second performance of Meryem, written by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican, and dedicated to the cherished memory of the martyrs who lost their lives in Palestine. The play, which received great acclaim during its first staging, was performed again due to popular demand. It attracted not only members of our university community but also art lovers from outside the city.

In the play, which conveyed the universal language of pain through the performing arts, the cast included Defne Çoban Kulcu, Ferda Çelik, Diyar Kaplan, Filiz Kamış, and Muhammet Kani Altın.

The performance was attended by our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican and his wife Dr. Songül Alican, Rector of Munzur University Prof. Dr. Kenan Peker, our Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Kenan Yıldırım and Prof. Dr. Talat Körpınar, Rector’s Advisors and Directors of the Center for Culture and Arts Practice and Research Dr. Ender Can Dönmez and Dr. Oğuzhan Karaçetin, our Secretary General Harun Demir, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Mudanya University Gıyasettin Bingöl, local protocol members, and many art enthusiasts.
