We Are On The Earthquake Zone Again On The Fourth Day Of The Earthquake
On the fourth day of the earthquake, there was a feverish activity at our university again. While some of our staff participated in the condolences of our student Ekrem Sayılgan, who died in the earthquake, the other part continued their aid mobilization. In today's works, different from the previous days, needs such as dry food products, diapers, wet wipes, and baby food were provided. Some of the collected aid materials were delivered to the contact point in Malatya determined by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Polat. Visiting the Rectorate of İnönü University first, Rector Polat visited İnönü University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kızılay and his colleagues and wished them well soon.
Polat then toured the university, in this context he examined the building of the Faculty of Theology witht Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kubat Dean of the Faculty of Theology. At the same time, he met with nearly 10 staff face-to-face or by phone to get information about their situation who were working at Muş Alparslan University and are currently continuing their academic studies in Malatya. The visit then continued with the examination of the areas where the earthquake victims were sheltering.
The afternoon part of their meeting continued at the Rectorate of Turgut Özal University. Rector Polat, welcomed by Inonu University Rector Prof. Dr. Recep Bentli and they toured the areas where the disaster victims were found. Rector Polat promised to send an aid convoy to the earthquake victims staying at Turgut Özal University. He conveyed his congratulations and thanks to Rector Bentli and his colleagues for their successful work and efforts.
