Visit to Our Ceramics Workshop by Alparslan Elementary School Students

A grade students from Alparslan Elementary School, located within our university campus, added color to their day with an enjoyable visit to the ceramics workshop under the guidance of their class teacher Yunus Saraç from the Faculty of Technical Sciences.

During the visit, the students were accompanied by the Director of the Faculty of Technical Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Fatih Şevgin, and instructors from the Department of Arts and Crafts, Instructor Emre Koç, and Instructor Abdulkadir Öznülüer. The students had the opportunity to develop their hand skills and experience art through the making of clay pottery in the ceramics workshop. Emphasizing that the visit to the ceramics workshop is an experience that will support the physical and cognitive development of children, Instructor Emre Koç, the ceramics instructor in the Department of Arts and Crafts, stated, "Art is a powerful learning and development tool that can provide a series of benefits for every age group. Especially for children, considering the characteristics of art, such as stimulating creativity, increasing attention and focus, improving social skills through collaboration, and developing motor skills, this visit will become even more meaningful for our little guests. The students had the opportunity to meet clay pottery making in our ceramics workshop, developing their hand skills and experiencing art. I would like to express my gratitude to their class teacher Yunus Saraç and our School Director, Assistant Professor Dr. Fatih Şevgin, for providing this opportunity to the children."

Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, Director of the Faculty of Technical Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Şevgin, said, "We are delighted that the students of Alparslan Elementary School visited the ceramics workshop of the Department of Arts and Crafts at the Faculty of Technical Sciences. Our students had the chance to experience art by getting acquainted with ceramics. I would like to thank the instructors from the Department of Arts and Crafts and the class teacher Yunus Saraç for guiding the students in the ceramics workshop and contributing to the organization of the visit. We are grateful to our little guests for their contributions to introducing art to them. We believe that such activities will continue to contribute positively to our students' educational lives, and we are open to similar activities in the future." The visit concluded after the students experienced the process of making clay pottery and expressed their gratitude to their teachers and department instructors.
