The 10th History Writing Workshop Held at MSKÜ

The 10th History Writing Workshop was hosted by Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (MSKÜ) on November 3-4.

Taking place at MSKÜ's Atatürk Cultural Center, the two-day workshop revolved around the theme "History, Historian, and Ethics: What and How?"

The Organizing Committee for the workshop included MSKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Turhan Kaçar, along with Prof. Dr. Ahmet Şimşek, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Gökçe, Prof. Dr. Bayram Akça, and Prof. Dr. Murat Keçiş.

 

The opening speeches for the History Writing Workshop were delivered by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Şimşek on behalf of the http://tarihyazımı.org/ Platform, our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican, and MSKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Turhan Kaçar.

In the opening conference, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Öz presented the topic "What Is Scientific Ethics? What Is Historian Ethics?"

The first session of the workshop on Friday discussed "Traces of Ethical Content in Current History Bachelor's Programs," the second session delved into "Ethical Boundaries and Possibilities in the Historian-Source Relationship," and the third session focused on "Ethical Issues in Writing History."

On Saturday, the fourth session addressed "The 'Other' as an Ethical Issue in History Writing," while the following sessions tackled "Ethical Issues in Digital History," "Subcontractors in Academia," and "Ethical Issues in History Journals."
