Significant Achievement from Our Faculty Member

The results of the second term of the 2024 1001 Program, conducted by TÜBİTAK’s Research Support Programs Presidency, have been announced.

In the highly competitive Social and Human Sciences category, only 17.4% of submitted projects were granted support.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammet Yücel, a faculty member from the Faculty of Science and Letters, has achieved great success with his project submitted under the “1001-Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program.” Recognized as one of the rare projects deemed worthy of support in the field of History across the country, this study focuses on the material cultural heritage of the Sassanid period.

The project will conduct an in-depth investigation into Sassanid-era artifacts registered in over ten museums across Turkey. Through the examination of these artifacts, the study aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of their historical, artistic, and cultural significance. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yücel’s research is expected not only to make a significant contribution to academic literature but also to support the preservation and understanding of historical heritage.

We congratulate Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammet Yücel on this remarkable achievement and wish that his project brings valuable contributions to the academic community and the field of historical studies in our country.
