Prof. Karadağ Appointed as Vice Rector
Prof. Yaşar Karadağ, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, was appointed as the vice rector.
Prof. Karadağ started his duty after being appointed as vice rector by MAUN Rector, Prof. Mustafa Alican. Rector Alican accepted Prof. Karadağ in his office and wished him success in his new term as the vice rector.
Rector Alican stated that he expected support from Prof. Karadağ in the efforts to make MAUN a prestigious university.
Prof. Karadağ congratulated Rector Alican for his appointment as the rector, and said that he had worked hard to contribute to the city and the university, and in his new term, he would keep up this work. He thanked Rector Alican for this important duty as vice rector.
Prof. Yaşar KARADAĞ was born in 1969 in Adana, Türkiye. He completed his primary and high school education in Adana. He started his undergraduate education at Çukurova University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Field Crops in 1987, and graduated in 1991 as the third in the Faculty of Agriculture and the first in the Department of Field Crops. He completed his master's degree in 1994 at the same university, in the Department of Field Crops, Graduate School of Science and Technology. In 1993, he started to work as a research assistant at Gaziosmanpaşa University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Field Crops. He completed his PhD degree in 1999 at the same university, in the Department of Field Crops, Graduate School of Science and Technology. He was appointed as assistant professor in 2003, associate professor in 2005, and professor in 2010. He carried out many scientific research projects and studies in Türkiye and different countries including Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Poland, Romania, Netherlands, France and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
A total of 23 graduate theses, 19 master's and 4 PhD, were written under his supervision. He published 161 scientific works. He worked as a coordinator and/or researcher in 136 projects. The winner of the TÜBİTAK Scientific Incentive Award, Prof. Karadağ is among the most influential scientists in the world in terms of H index values. Throughout his academic life, Prof. Karadağ worked as vice head of the Department of Field Crops, head of the department, vice dean, dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Yozgat Bozok University, and since December 15, 2017, he has been working as vice rector and Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Muş Alparslan University.
Prof. Yaşar Karadağ is married and has two children.
