Prof. Dr. Şanda Appointed as Advisor to the Rector
Prof. Dr. Murad Aydın Şanda from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of our university was appointed as advisor to the rector.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican accepted Prof. Dr. Şanda in his office and wished him success in his new position. Rector Alican said, “We would be happy if you would share your experiences with us.”
Şanda wished Rector Alican success in his new assignment and said that as a university, he will undertake important tasks towards making Malazgirt a brand and that he is honoured to be here in this process.
Prof. Dr. Murad Aydın Şanda was born in 1968 in the Yayladağı district of Hatay province. After completing his primary and secondary school in Islahiye district in Gaziantep, he graduated from Reyhanlı High School in Hatay in 1985. He graduated from Erzurum Atatürk University Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education, Department of Biology Education, which he started in 1985 and completed in 1989. In the same year, he passed the teaching qualification exam held by the Ministry of National Education and started teaching at the Piraziz Village Primary School in Giresun. After his 213th term basic training as a reserve officer at Ankara Mamak Signal Corps School in 1990, he worked as a reserve officer biology teacher at Rize Imam-Hatip High School. In 1991, he started his academic career as a research assistant at Selcuk University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Biology Department, Botany Division. He completed his master’s degree under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Baki Eyce in 1993, and he completed his doctorate education under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Küçüködük in the Institute of Science, Department of Biology at Selcuk University
In 2002, he was appointed as an assistant professor to the Department of Biology, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Selcuk University. He received the title of UAK Associate Professor in 2010. After being appointed as a professor at Iğdır University Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Field Crops in 2016, Prof. Dr. Murad Aydın Şanda was appointed to the same university as the vice-rector on 08 November 2016 with the approval of the Council of Higher Education and he carried out this duty until 20 March 2017. He continues to work at Muş Alparslan University, where he was appointed to the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics in August 2017,
He is an expert on Vegetation Ecology, Plant Ecology, Plant Systematics, Meadow Pasture Vegetation, Heavy Metal Accumulation and Pollution, and conducted/has been conducting national and international scientific studies and projects. Some of his studies in 2015 included; Science Journal editor, editorial board member at Selcuk University, Faculty of Science; Field Editor of the Journal of Iğdır University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, and referee in many national/international journals; he also served as a member of the scientific board at national/international scientific meetings.
