President attended the 952nd Anniversary of Malazgirt Victory Celebration Programme
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the 952nd Anniversary of Malazgirt Victory Celebration Programme held in Malazgirt National Park Area, attended by our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican and made a speech.
Stating that they are together again in the blessed lands that witnessed one of the important turning points of history on the occasion of the 952nd anniversary of the Malazgirt Victory, President Erdoğan said, "At the very beginning of my words, I would like to remember with mercy and gratitude all our heroes, martyrs, veterans and sultans of hearts who made Anatolia a homeland for us. We hereby declare once again our determination and resolve to protect these lands, which were entrusted to us by Sultan Alparslan and every single soldier in his army, until the last drop of our blood."
Emphasising that Malazgirt was not an ordinary victory, President Erdoğan continued his speech as follows "We did not set foot in Anatolia with Malazgirt, we were already here long before. Malazgirt opened the doors of our political sovereignty in Anatolia. The victory won here first established the Anatolian Seljuk State and dealt the biggest blow to the Crusader raids. Then, with the successful struggles of the Ottoman Empire, which raised its flag with the same belief, it was instrumental in the conquest of the Balkans and Istanbul. In other words, Malazgirt is the big brother of Iznik, Konya, Bursa, Edirne and Istanbul. This is the starting point of the chain of victories that took us to the front of Vienna. My citizens from Malazgirt cannot be thankful enough and proud enough for having such a heritage. Each of our provinces and districts has a different place in our hearts, but Malazgirt has a different position in our hearts with this spiritual heritage. This image in Malazgirt reminds us of the richness, depth, strength and most importantly the continuity of our history and culture. These lands have been enlivened and blessed with the cries of 'Ya Allah, bismillah, Allahu Akbar' rising wave after wave for thousands of years. The people living in these lands are always united and integrated for the sake of the same sublime goal, regardless of their origins, their origins, and their differences."
President Erdoğan said that they are working day and night to be worthy of the heroes who spread the door they opened in Malazgirt to seven climates and three continents with the plane tree they planted in Söğüt. Stating that soil is "a handful of dry dust", President Erdoğan said: "Those who turn dry soil into a homeland are those who protect it by kneading it with their blood, govern it with justice and embrace everyone living on it with compassion." Emphasising that this has been done by the nation for a thousand years, President Erdoğan said: "We have always pursued the same homeland cause with tens of principalities, Seljuks, Ottomans and the Republic. The road is long. We have experienced together a journey that Hacı Bayram and Hacı Bektaş embroidered in the hearts of the hearts, and Mimar Sinan engraved on the stone. Every incident we have experienced in this geography with its bitter and sweet showed us the value of our homeland again and again. We won the Malazgirt Victory at the beginning of the new millennium, and now we are here again at the beginning of the second millennium with the same excitement." Emphasising that Alparslans, Saladin Ayyubis, Calls, Ertugrul, Murat, Fatih, Suleiman, Yavuz, Mustafa Kemaller, Hayme Anas, Nene Hatuns and Şerife Bacıs will never be missing in these lands, President Erdoğan continued as follows: "Therefore, the construction of the Turkish Century will not be prevented. This is the spirit of Malazgirt. I accept this meeting in Malazgirt as a new covenant of the Turkish Century and I remember Sultan Alparslan and the sainted martyrs with condolences once again.
In the ceremony where the Gendarmerie Mehteran Unit performed, the Holy Quran was read and prayers were said. After President Erdoğan's speech, President of the Archers Foundation Haydar Ali Yıldız presented gifts to President Erdoğan in memory of the day. President Erdoğan also took a family photo with the participants.
