Practice Farm Established at the Faculty of Applied Sciences

A new practice farm has been established under the Department of Animal Production and Technologies at Muş Alparslan University's Faculty of Applied Sciences.

In the initial phase, the farm plans to raise 50 sheep and 200 chickens. Students will gain hands-on experience in animal care, feeding, and other farming activities, enhancing their practical skills in these areas.

This new farm will provide students with the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice, thereby increasing their competencies in animal production technologies. Additionally, the farm will serve as a significant resource for research and development activities.

Associate Professor Dr. Orhan Karadağ from the Department of Animal Production and Technologies expressed gratitude to our Rector, Professor Dr. Mustafa Alican, for his valuable contributions throughout this process. Highlighting the opportunities the new facility offers to students, Dr. Karadağ stated, “Our aim is to enrich our students' educational experience and make them more proficient in the industry. The farm will also contribute to the university’s research projects.”

Our practice farm is also expected to support regional livestock activities, strengthen cooperation between our university and the local community, and contribute to raising livestock standards in the region.
