Our University Doubled its Erasmus Budget for 2024

Muş Alparslan University doubled its Erasmus budget thanks to the successful work of the Erasmus Coordination Office and the effective use of the grants allocated. In addition to its academic achievements, our university continues to achieve significant success in the projects carried out by the International Relations Unit.

The National Agency announced the grant budgets allocated to universities every year according to the performances of universities within the scope of Erasmus activities.

Accordingly, the KA131 budget of the Erasmus Coordination Office of our University, which was 52,250 Euros in 2023, increased by 108% to 109,400 Euros. With this success, among 207 universities holding ECHE (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education) in Turkey, our university ranked as the 10th university that increased its Erasmus KA131 budget the most. In addition, it rose 23 places in the total budget ranking and ranked the 111th among all the universities in our country.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican stated that our university has an important position in Turkey in terms of student and staff exchange as a result of the devoted work of the Erasmus Coordinatorship:

‘Our university, which has been developing rapidly since its foundation, is becoming stronger and stronger in the field of international cooperation and mobility. With the efforts of the Erasmus Coordination Office, we have achieved great successes in recent years. In the last 2-3 years, we have sent dozens of students and staff abroad within the scope of the Erasmus Exchange Programme and hosted dozens of students and staff at our university. We hope that these success will continue exponentially. I congratulate the Erasmus Coordination Office and wish them continued success.’

Our Erasmus Institutional Coordinator Lecturer Yahya Adanır explained the reasons behind this success as follows:
‘As MAUN Erasmus Coordination Office, the mobility we carried out with universities in Europe, the collaborations we established with these universities, and the effective use of previous budgets were effective in increasing our budget. Since 2020, we have been using the entire budget allocated to us for student and staff mobility every year. For this reason, we have achieved an increase of 108% in our budget this year. We aim to send more students and staff to Europe by increasing our budget even more in the coming years.’
