Our Students Keep the Turkish Shadow Play Alive

The project "Karagöz Gets to Know His Body Systems", which integrates Turkish Shadow Play with science with an interdisciplinary approach, was funded by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The project will be carried out with student teachers. In the project, the " body systems", which is the subject of science education, will be transformed into shadow play scenarios, and after creating necessary descriptions, it will be displayed in secondary schools. 

The project, which was presented to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism by Assist. Prof. Dr. Erdinç Öcal as part of the support given to theaters and funded by the ministry, will be conducted during the 2021-2022 art season. The prepared shadow play will be presented to students in at least 15 secondary schools in Muş. The project is expected to shed light on studies that integrate Traditional Turkish Theater and science with an interdisciplinary understanding.
