Our Rector Participated in the Süphan Mountain Climb Held in Honor of the 953rd Anniversary of the Battle of Malazgirt

The Süphan Mountain climbing activity, organized by the Turkish Mountaineering Federation in honor of the 953rd anniversary of the Battle of Malazgirt, was enthusiastically held at the event site in the Adilcevaz district of Bitlis, located at an altitude of 4,058 meters.

In addition to athletes from various provinces, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican, also participated in the climb, showing his support for this meaningful event.

The Spirit of Malazgirt Revived on Süphan Mountain

The Süphan Mountain climbing activity brought together participants from across Türkiye to keep alive the historical significance of the Battle of Malazgirt and the national spirit it inspired. A total of 27 athletes participated in the event, including Melek Karataş and Revşan Yılmaz, students from our university’s Faculty of Sports Sciences. The athletes were accompanied by 2 coaches and 2 federation board members. Participants included athletes from cities such as Muş, Ağrı, Adana, Aksaray, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Gaziantep, İzmir, Muğla, Samsun, Şanlıurfa, Tekirdağ, Trabzon, and Tunceli.
