Our Rector Attended the Inauguration Ceremony of TOGG Gemlik Facility

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat attended the inauguration ceremony of the Gemlik Facility, the mass production of Togg would take place, held with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited the Togg Technology Facility before the opening ceremony and took a test drive. In his message, Erdoğan said, "May Allah speed Togg.” Erdoğan, who came to the ceremony area with a red C SUV named Anatolia, which is the first production from the serial production line, said in his speech, “we are witnessing the realization of a 60-year dream with this first vehicle that we took off the mass production line. For this, we can say Togg is the common pride of Turkey's 85 million,” and thanked the partners and stakeholders of Turkey's Automobile Initiative Group. President Erdoğan said, “I heartily congratulate our brave men, technicians, engineers and workers who worked day and night to descend Togg from the mass production line. You, along with our nation, honored the legacy of Nuri Demirağ, Nuri Killigil, Vecihi Hürkuş and Şakir Zümre. You know, yesterday in Ankara, we shared the good news of our vision for the Turkish Century, which will mark the new century of our Republic, with our nation. The first photograph of the Century of Turkey is the facility we put into service here, the vehicle we stand in front of". Celebrating the 99th anniversary of the Republic in his speech, President Erdoğan said, "I commemorate with mercy and gratitude the ancestors who made Anatolian lands our homeland, the heroes of the National Struggle, the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal, and all members of our Grand National Assembly. On this meaningful day, we are united as a nation. I give endless praise to Allah, who gave us the opportunity to meet at such a historical opening. Being a nation means heading towards Wishing that the Togg Gemlik Facility, where Turkey's domestic and national automobile and smart devices will be produced from the serial line will be beneficial for the country and the nation, President Erdoğan stated that the Turkish nation has survived by overcoming the most difficult obstacles for thousands of years. Togg's C-SUV model, which was produced in the prototype workshop and carried out various road tests, will be fully ready for mass production in 5 months. The C-SUV will then be sent to accredited test centers to document its readiness to hit the road. Togg, which will receive approval certificates after homolagation tests that will take about 5 months, will be put on sale in Turkey as of March 2023. Togg, which will only respond to the demand of Turkish consumers for 15-18 months, will then export to European countries, especially to countries such as Germany and France. After the C-SUV, which will go on sale in March 2023, the fully electric Sedan in the C segment will be available in 2025. This model will be followed by the C-Hatchback, B-SUV and C-MPV models, respectively. The C-SUV will have 6 different color options and these colors take their names from the beauties of Turkey. It was announced that the names were Anatolia, Gemlik, Oltu, Kula, Cappadocia and Pamukkale. Rector Polat, who made a statement on the subject, said, “we witnessed the transformation of Turkey's 60-year dream into reality.
