Rector Alican stated, "Unfortunately, July 15 is a day when our country was targeted with a significant conspiracy and an attempt was made to erase our independence by treacherous coup plotters. It is a day when our independence was preserved. As a university, we are organizing many spiritual events related to this day. This workshop is one of those events. We invited esteemed professors to our university to look at this topic from a scientific perspective and understand what we should pay attention to."
Mayor Feyat Asya expressed, "You read about some events in history, while you experience some of them firsthand. We experienced that fateful night on July 15, 2016, and may Allah never make us go through it again. It makes us very happy to see our university organizing such events to commemorate the significance of this day."
During his opening speech at the program, Governor Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlker Gündüzöz thanked our university and its esteemed rector for organizing this workshop on a scientific basis. He also touched upon the efforts during the July 15 process and said, "May Allah never make us experience such a process again. Throughout history, this nation has faced similar tests, and the people have always stood by their state and passed these tests."
Following the opening speeches, the workshop was conducted in two sessions. In the first session, moderated by Rector Alican, Prof. Dr. Atilla Yayla from Istanbul Medipol University presented his study titled "The Mystery of July 15: Loyalty," and Prof. Dr. Fatih Ertugay from Cumhuriyet University delivered a presentation on "Coup Mechanics in Turkey: Anatomy of Coups and July 15."
