Muş Alparslan University Raised the Bar for Academic Success 64 Steps
With the academic breakthroughs it has made in recent years, our university has achieved record data in the number of departments, programs and academic units, as well as has carried out studies that raise the bar a little more every day in terms of scientific citations.
Muş Alparslan University, which was ranked 4th among 187 universities in terms of the number of medals it won by making its mark in the UNILIG competitions held between universities, has also signed a new graphic that impresses in academic success.
The new study of SCImago University Rankings, which carries out studies to give a general idea about universities by measuring the performance of universities in terms of research, innovation and social impact, has remarkable results. The report published after the related research sheds light on the evaluation of students, academics, researchers, and other partner universities.
According to the 2023 ranking results of SCIMAGO Institutions Rankings, one of the most important international university ranking indexes in the world, our university surpassed well-established universities in many fields and rose to the top. According to the results evaluated by measuring the research, innovation outputs and social impact performances of universities, skipping 64 steps MAUN has risen from 116th to 52nd place in 2022 among all universities in Turkey.
In addition, with the successful studies in the field of "Agriculture and Food Science", our University was ranked 31st in Turkey in 2022 and rose to the 1st place according to 2023 data. This success of Muş Alparslan University, which is a Pilot State University in the field of livestock, is expected to continue exponentially.
The second most successful field in the ranking is “Physics and Astronomy”, a field we entered for the first time in Turkey. In this respect, our University is in the top 5 among universities in Turkey. We rank 7th in "Engineering", a field that we have entered this for the first time. Our university rose from 50 to 34 in the field of "Mathematics", It rose from 57th rank to 34th place in the field of "Educational Sciences", and from 78th rank in 2022 to 44th rank in 2023 with the studies, it carried out in the field of "Energy". We seem to have regressed from the 23rd rank in 2022 to the 51st rank in 2023 only in the field of "Chemistry".
Commenting on the subject, Rector Polat said: “The issue that most influences the organization's ranking criteria is publication in journals that fall within the 10% citation range. Our academicians who publish in these journals, which are also the upper category of Q1 quality journals, have carried out many studies especially in the fields of engineering, physics and astronomy, food and energy. I want to express my thanks and gratitude to them. After the new decisions we took in the academic appointment criteria, we have made serious progress in indexed publication and project studies. With the opening of the Faculty of Dentistry, for which we have made the tender for the architectural project in our university and for which we want to hold the tender for the construction soon, the missing studies in the field of health will also participate in the process and I hope our University will be remembered with much more successful results.”
