Mountaineering Winter Development Camp Implementation Training Started
Winter Development Camp organized by TDF under the auspices of our university has commenced its practical training sessions.
The group, bid farewell by the Health, Culture, and Sports Department Head Şükrü Çobanoğlu and university staff, departed at 08:30 in the morning for the Kurtik Mountain region where the practical training, accompanied by SKS Sports Branch Manager Ahmet Türkan, technical team, and coaches, will take place and will last for three days.
Mountaineers will undergo practical training in the Winter Development Camp application, including; site selection under the supervision of technical team and coaches, building snow caves, shelters/igloos, route selection, mountain access, and climbing organization, ascending, descending, and traversing in mountainous terrain, rope descent techniques and applications, as well as practical exercises on mountain nutrition, water supply, and fluid intake.
