Mevlevi Cuisine Talk on TRT Erzurum Radio

Head of the Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services, Cooking Program of our University, Instructor Hüsnü Kasar was a telephone guest on TRT Erzurum Radio and gave information to the audience about “Mevlevi Cuisine”.

Referring to the Şeb-i Arus Commemoration Ceremonies on the occasion of the 750th anniversary of the reunion of His Holiness Mevlana, he said: “His Holiness Mevlana said, 'Do a ceremony for me like a wedding night because that night is the night when I reunite with Allah, the greatest lover,' as well as saying “Don't worry. I'm going to my lover,” he said.

The instructor stated that in the past, the Sema ritual was held in the evening in all Mevlevi lodges during Şeb-i Arus, and today the same traditions continue in Şeb-i Arus events. Kasar then gave information to the audience about the philosophy of Mevlevi Cuisine, types of cooking and storage, table setting and dining etiquette.
