MAUN will compete with 6 teams and 6 projects in the TEKNOFEST Unmanned Aerial Vehicles categories
Our university students will participate in the TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival in the categories of Fixed Wing UAV, Rotating Wing UAV and Fighter UAV.
TEKNOFEST, the world’s largest technology festival and competition organization, will be held between 30 August and 4 September 2022 this year. The organization, led by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, which set out to realize the National Technology Move target of our country, is the locomotive in our country to motivate all layers of society within the scope of the National Technology Move target, to train and support the human resources that will develop advanced technology projects.
With this motivation, our university took its place in the technology races by participating in TEKNOFEST races with 2 teams in the “Medium Altitude Rocket” and “Rotating Wing UAV” categories last year. This year, we will compete in the “Fixed Wing UAV”, “Rotating Wing UAV” and “Fighter UAV” categories.
“Our priority is to take our place in the National Technology Move”
Prof. Ulaş Çaydaş, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture and Vice-Chancellor, who guided the students about their participation in TEKNOFEST, said, “We aim to increase the number of our teams participating in the festival in the coming years. We want to contribute to the development of our country and the development of domestic and national projects by providing all kinds of opportunities of our university to our students working in this field. We are working to provide financial support from both our university and sponsors and development agencies so that our teams can be finalists in the categories they compete in. We commenced a tab titled “TEKNOFEST” on our university page. Information such as team structures, team logos, mission, vision, social media accounts, and technical reports of all our teams participating in the competition can be found here. All of our students who want to work with the team will be able to easily follow the areas of work and communicate with the team they want to work with. Thus, we aim to ensure the continuity of our teams. I would like to thank our Rector, Prof. Fethi Ahmet Polat, who provided us with all kinds of support and followed the projects meticulously.”
Rector of our university, Prof. Fethi Ahmet Polat, said, “Our priority by participating in the competition is to support our youth, who will take an active role in the construction of a stronger Turkey, and to take our place in the National Technology Movement. With these feelings and thoughts, I wish TEKNOFEST 2022 to be beneficial for our country and wish success to all teams participating in the competitions.”
