MAUN Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican was a guest of the Preference Guide Programme
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican was the live broadcast guest of TVNET's Preference Guide Programme to talk about the promotion of our university and YKS preference guidance.
Answering the questions of moderator Esra Atayeter, Prof. Dr. Alican gave important information about our city and our university and invited students who will make university preferences to Muş.
Starting his speech by giving information about the opportunities provided by Muş Alparslan University to students during the preference period, Prof. Dr. Alican made important statements about the history, projects and development of Muş Alparslan University.
"We produce data for Turkey's Agriculture and Livestock Regions"
Stating that Muş Alparslan University is a pilot state university in the field of animal husbandry in line with the regional development-oriented plan, Prof. Dr. Alican continued his words as follows: "At the Faculty of Applied Sciences of our university, very intensive studies are carried out on forage crops. With the studies carried out here, we produce data for the agriculture and animal husbandry regions of Turkey, especially the Muş Plain. Basically, we continue our activities as a university centred on agriculture, animal husbandry, history and culture. Muş Plain is the third largest plain in Turkey after Çukurova and Konya. The Muş Plain will soon be completely irrigated agriculture. In addition, very large investments and production centres will be built for tobacco. The Muş plain is an agricultural campus due to the production of fodder crops, beetroot and sunflower. Therefore, being in Muş will make great contributions to our students who want to become agricultural engineers."
"We Provide Staff to International Airline Companies"
Stating that Muş Alparslan University stands out with its vocational schools as well as its faculties, our rector Prof. Dr. Alican continued his words as follows while stating that the Vocational School of Social Sciences produces added value to the region: "We have departments such as cookery and civil aviation in our Vocational School. We provide staff to international airline companies. There are also application areas such as training cabin for our students to practice."
"We Bring Talented Children to the Turkish Sports World"
Stating that Muş Alparslan University is sufficient in terms of the opportunities it offers to students, our rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican said: "There are 10 faculties in our university. One of these faculties is the Faculty of Sports Sciences, which takes students with special talent and has 5 departments. There are 19 national athletes in this faculty. In addition, this faculty, which has many degrees in international tournaments, has sufficient sports facilities. In addition, our teachers travel around the districts and villages of Muş and find talented children and include them in our courses and bring them to the Turkish sports world".
"We will bring the Faculty of Dentistry to Muş"
Speaking about the campus, facilities and faculties of Muş Alparslan University, our rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican stated the following: "Our Faculty of Dentistry was officially established. Our project for this faculty has been drawn. We will start the construction of our faculty very soon. During the time we are here, we will bring the Faculty of Dentistry to Muş. Before the faculty building is completed, we are also making preliminary preparations for the Faculty of Dental Education. When we activate our Faculty of Dentistry, we will serve a large region from Elâzığ to Bitlis".
"Determination, History and Archaeology of Malazgirt Battlefield is an International Project"
Underlining that our university has made significant achievements in many fields from history, sports to literature, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican said the following about the project titled "Determination, History and Archaeology of Malazgirt Battlefield": I had the honour of writing the first collective monograph on the battle of Malazgirt in Turkey. I have been working on Malazgirt for about eleven years. For the last four and a half years, we have been conducting a war archaeology project titled "Determination, History and Archaeology of the Malazgirt Battlefield" with Prof. Dr. Adnan Çevik from the history department of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University under his scientific supervision. This project is an internationally recognised project in which our professors from many departments are also involved."
