Great Success from the Culinary Program
Students of our university’s Vocational School of Social Sciences Culinary Program won a gold medal in the Orange Flavors Young Chefs Competition held as part of the International Orange Blossom Carnival.
Dozens of flavors competed in the competition, which aimed to bring together the citrus fruit, one of Adana’s most important agricultural products, with Adana’s favorite flavors. Our culinary program students Bedirhan Ercan and Filiz Gerde won first place in 2 branches.
Rector, Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat, stated that he was extremely happy with this degree, and said, “I would like to thank to the Director of Social Sciences Vocational School, Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Özalper, Head of Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services Department, Assist. Prof. Nuray Türkoğlu, Head of Culinary Program Lecturer Hüsnü Kasar, Öztiryakiler Chairman of the Board of Directors Yusuf Öztiryaki, and Istanbul Chamber of Industry President Erdal Bahçıvan for their support during the establishment of our cookery, and Halit Uygur, the President of Muş Cooks and Pastries Association for their support.
