Future Technological Trend at TBMYO: Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Seminar
Our university Vocational School of Technical Sciences (TBMYO) hosted a seminar in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The presentation of the seminar, which was organized under the coordination of TBMYO Director Assist. Prof. Fatih Şevgin, was made by Assist. Prof. İskender Dölek, Director of our University Disaster Management Application Research Center (AFETYÖN).
The event, which was attended by academic and administrative staff as well as Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technology and Operator Program students and other interested students, discussed different usage areas of UAVs.
UAVs, which are integrated into many areas of life with developing technology and software, were explained in detail by AFETYÖN Manager Assist. Prof. İskender Dölek. Dölek emphasized that UAV technology is used in a wide range of areas, from disasters to security-related issues, and explained to the students its usage areas ranging from 3D modeling to photogrammetry with visual content. It was emphasized that in addition to the mechanical components of UAVs, software and data processing areas are also important. Assist. Prof. Dölek stated to the students that if they specialize in this field, they can open the doors to different business fields. He underlined the rapid change in the use of UAVs and the diversification based on capabilities in this field.
Expressing his gratitude to Assist. Prof. İskender Dölek for his contributions to the seminar presentation and stating that unmanned aerial vehicles are the technological trend of the future, Şevgin said, “The UAV seminar we held provided a platform opportunity that focused on technological developments with the interest of the participants. At a time when UAVs are used effectively in many areas of our lives, we came together with this event to help our students discover the potential in this field and add new horizons to their careers. UAVs, one of the technological trends of the future, offer a wide range of usage opportunities with their activities in different fields. This seminar offered our students the opportunity to get to know this important technology more closely and learn about its usage areas. We had the opportunity to understand the role of UAVs in our developing world with the impressive presentation of AFETYÖN Director Assist. Prof. İskender Dölek.”
Assist. Prof. Şevgin continued his statement: “As TBMYO, we attach importance to such events with the vision of making our students pioneers of technology. We will continue to support our students to follow technological developments closely and discover their potential in their own fields with similar events in the future. “I would like to thank everyone who participated and hope they will contribute to the future success stories of UAV technology.”
The seminar, where participants' questions were answered, offered interested students the opportunity to explain the future potential and career opportunities of UAV technology. While the seminar attracted the attention of students who follow the developments in the fields of technology and engineering, it stood out as a step towards training future experts in this important field.
