From the Past to the Future of Basketball and Sports Psychology in the 100th Anniversary of the Republic
An event titled "From the Past to the Future of Basketball and Sports Psychology in the 100th Anniversary of the Republic" was organized at our university. The event, coordinated by Advisor to the Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atike Yılmaz and moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Önder Şekeroğlu, was held within the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Department of Exercise and Sports Sciences, at the 1071 Malazgirt Congress and Culture Center.
The esteemed figure of basketball, Necati Güler, and the Head of Coaching Education and Sports Psychology Consultant, Prof. Dr. Turhan Toros from Mersin University's Faculty of Sports Sciences, were the speakers at the event. During the event, Güler discussed the historical development of Turkish basketball, while Prof. Dr. Toros emphasized the importance of athlete psychology in training successful athletes and what can be done in this regard. The event lasted for two hours and was attended by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican, as well as Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Yaşar Karadağ, Rector's Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özalper, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences Prof. Dr. Alper Karadağ, faculty members, faculty administration, faculty students, students from the Varto Vocational School Sports Management Department, members of our university's Young Fenerbahçe Fans Community, and basketball players from the Muş Cedi Osman Academy Basketball Club.
