Farewell Dınner For Rector Polat By MAUN Staff
The General Secretariat of MAUN organized a farewell dinner program for Rector Professor Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat, whose term has ended.
The program was held at the central cafeteria and was attended by Rector Polat, accompanied by his wife, Nilüfer Polat. Nearly 300 people, including Vice Rectors Professor Dr. Yaşar Karadağ, Professor Dr. Ulaş Çaydaş, and Professor Dr. Murad Aydın Şanda, as well as Secretary General Harun Demir, all deans, directors, department heads, academic and administrative staff, were in attendance.
The program started with Vice Rector, Professor Dr. Ulaş Çaydaş, and Secretary General Harun Demir welcoming Rector Polat and his wife, Nilüfer Polat, with flowers. The evening, hosted by Instructor Hasan Fahri Tan, featured a welcoming speech by Professor Dr. Yaşar Karadağ on behalf of the university staff, who expressed the following sentiments: "Rector Polat has always been a special person to us. He approached us not only as an administrator but also with the warmth of a friend and the tenderness of a father. I express my gratitude to him on behalf of myself and all of you for the values he has brought to us and the richness he has added to our intellectual world. I wish him and his family health, peace, and happiness in his future life."
Rector Polat was then invited to the stage, where he delivered an emotional speech of thanks to his colleagues and their families. Polat conveyed his gratitude to his coworkers with the following words:
“Dear colleagues,
As of today, I have completed the ninth year of my duty as the rector. I am excited and happy to be able to hand over this sacred duty, which we inherited from our predecessors, to our colleagues who will come after us with peace of mind. I am grateful to all of you, the valuable staff members who are present here today, and to those colleagues who could not be with us due to their excuses but conveyed their sympathy messages to us.
My dear brothers and sisters,
I express that I believe you will make Muş Alparslan University Rectorate a source of pride for me as a spiritual award. I greet you all with love and respect. May Allah be with you.
