3rd Youth Whispers Young Look at Regional Employment Workshop Eastern Anatolia Regional Panel Completed

Under the execution of Ensar Foundation, “3rd Youth Whispers Young Look at Regional Employment Workshop Eastern Anatolia Regional Panel” was completed. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat also attended the panel. Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat talked about the academic and social opportunities of our university on the panel.

 

 

Employment is one of our top priorities

 

Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat emphasized that our university focuses on departments with high employment opportunities and that special studies have been being carried out to prepare job opportunities for graduates , with the following expressions: “Our university has internship practices done and organizes vocational training programs in order to train graduates with the qualifications demanded by the labor market of Muş province. Successful students at our university do internships at institutions and organizations in the province during their education at the university. They receive joint "Entrepreneurship" trainings with Muş KOSGEB (Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Development Organization) and the successful ones open businesses with grant support. In our department and program requests, we open ones with high employment opportunities such as Gerontology, Opticianry, Pharmacy, Construction Machinery Operatorship, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technology, Audiometry, Podology, Oral Health, Dialysis, Psychology, English Language Teaching, Exercise for the Physically Disabled, and Software Engineering. Our new YÖK (Higher Education Council) President also stated that they will prioritize the employment target in the further process in department and program structuring.”

 

“We concentrated on agricultural researches.”

 

Rector Polat also spoke about the studies done considering the characteristics and needs of the region. Talking about the studies and opportunities in the fields of agriculture and animal husbandry, Polat continued his words as follows: “We have been selected as Pilot State University in the field of animal husbandry. Last week, we became the Joint Application and Research Center for Rough Feed in Turkey. Cold milk chains have been created at 27 points so far. 950 female farmers were trained on animal and plant production. By including the Farmer Training Center in the investment budget, the stage of tender has been attained.”

 

Special focus on postgraduate programs

 

Stating, “Muş Alparslan University, which has a special focus on postgraduate programs, is on the way to become a university that conducts quality researches in specific fields.” Continued his words as “Our students in postgraduate programs have the opportunity to work in projects. We are among the places that provide the best training in Detector and Sensor Technologies, Food Safety, Nuclear Energy and Energy Systems, STEM education in Turkey.”

 

 He mentioned the social opportunities

 

 

Polat said, “Several of the best instructors in Turkey in the field of puppet theatre, Karagöz Hacivat and Dyscalculia (Maths Learning Disability) are at our university. One of the biggest Congress Centers of Eastern Anatolia, where all kinds of artistic activities can be held, is in Muş. Puppet Theater exists in very few places in Turkey. As far as I know, only we have the Karagöz Hacivat workshop. We provide opportunities for young people in our Radio Alparslan and music and TV recording studios.”

 

 

“We are raising champions.”

 

 

Rector Polat also talked about the Faculty of Sports Sciences, one of the most successful units of our university. Polat said, “Our Faculty of Sports Sciences is a faculty where many national sportspeople study. In Turkey, it is the only Faculty of Sports Sciences with 5 active departments. There are also postgraduate and doctoral program opportunities. We are among the top 20 in Turkey in terms of success of universities.”

 

 

Young people have a say in management

 

Emphasizing that our university has a modern management approach, Rector Polat said that our students have a say in the development of their university by having representatives in the senate. He added that active work is carried out through the clubs, and under the leadership of the student advisors in each club, it is possible to overcome the administrative problems quickly and to meet the administration-student in a healthy way. Polat ended his speech by thanking the participants and those concerned.
