Important Research From Dyscalculia Association
Within the scope of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the book of the project titled “The Problems Experiencing Dyscalculic Children and Suggestions for Solutions”, prepared by the European Union civil society support platform “ETKIMIZ” and the Dyscalculia Association founded by our university faculty members, was published.
In the project prepared by MAUN faculty members Assoc. Dr. Yilmaz Mutlu, Assoc. Dr. Zekeriya Cam and Dr. Instructor Emir Feridun Çalışkan and presented on behalf of the Dyscalculia Association, the problems faced by children with math learning difficulties and their families were investigated from the perspective of the families. In the light of the opinions received from the parents, the problems of the children who were faced with dyscalculia were determined and solutions were developed for these problems. In the published report, the problems of students with dyscalculia are examined under five headings: "Problems Encountered in the Diagnosis of Dyscalculic Children", "Problems Encountered in Support Education", "Problems Encountered in Exams and Evaluation", "Problems Encountered Regarding Legal Regulations" and "Other Problems Encountered".
