Bara’at Night Program at Our University
Lailat al bara, the herald of Ramadan, the sultan of the 11 months, has been celebrated at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences of our university.
The program started with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahsum Aytepe’s speech on the Night of Bara’at and the significance of Ramadan, then the choir including the students of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Dr. İzzet Gülaçar and Lecturer Zeyneb Türkoğlu gave a hymn concert to the audience. The audience experienced the spiritual atmosphere of the Bara’at Night with the prayer of Res. Asst. Emrah Baş.
Rector Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences Prof. Dr. Murat Serdar, the staff and students of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences attended the program. In his speech at the end of the program, Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat thanked the lecturers and the students who performed the hymns and stated that the faculty has provided important services to Muş through the organizations and he believes that the faculty will continue to contribute with more comprehensive activities from now on. Also, he emphasized that what he wanted from the lecturers was the establishment of a Turkish Sufi music choir that the officials in Muş would take part.
