Workshop on Roughage Problems in Turkey Held
“1st Workshop on Roughage Problems in Turkey” was held by the Joint Application and Research Center for Roughage, Grassland-Pasture and Forage Crops in our university.
With the decision taken by the Higher Education Executive Board at the meeting dated September 15, “Joint Application and Research Center for Roughage, Grassland-Pasture and Forage Crops” was founded within the body of Muş Alparslan University. In this context, “1st Workshop on Roughage Problems in Turkey” was hosted by our university. Our university’s Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet POLAT, Çukurova University’s Chancellor Prof. Dr. Meryem TUNCEL, Dicle University’s Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mehmet KARAKOÇ, and Ondokuz Mayıs University’s Chancellor Prof. Dr. Yavuz ÜNAL participated to the workshop which was held online.
Concrete Steps Taken
On behalf of the Joint Application and Research Center for Roughage, Grassland-Pasture and Forage Crops, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Yaşar Karadağ, Çukurova University Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Rüştü Hatipoğlu, Dicle University Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Mehmet Başbağ, Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Ferat Uzun, and 20 people, consisting of Ferat Uzun and 5 faculty members from each university's working group, participated to the workshop. In the workshop, a consensus was reached on three main issues in order to take concrete steps within the scope of the Joint Application and Research Center for Roughage, Grassland-Pasture and Forage Crops. A work schedule and work plan for the studies to be carried out within the research center of each university were decided in the workshop. Also,
it was announced that four universities would carry out joint studies, research and projects, and that the research laboratories would be used in cooperation.
Final Report Shared
The Final Report of the workshop was shared in our University Vice-Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences Prof. Dr. Yaşar KARADAĞ’s ending speech in which he also expressed his wishes and desires. There were 15 articles in the Final Report of the 1st Workshop on Roughage Problems in Turkey.
