Science and Art Meet on Stage-3" Project Receives TÜBİTAK Support
The “Science and Art Meet on Stage-3 (Science on Stage-3)” project, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erdinç Öcal from the Department of Science Education at our university’s Faculty of Education, has been granted support under the TÜBİTAK 4004 Nature Education and Science Schools Support Program.
The project will feature applications where students can actively collaborate, integrating performing arts, creative drama, visual arts, music, experimental applications, and STEAM activities. The aim is to provide students with enjoyable and diverse perspectives on science and scientists. Objectives include fostering positive attitudes towards science and scientists, stimulating curiosity, research, inquiry, and a desire to learn, and offering different viewpoints on art through performing and visual arts. Additionally, the project aims to contribute to the literature on science theaters, incorporating traditional arts like Turkish shadow puppetry.
Forty seventh-grade students selected from middle schools in Muş will participate in an 11-day fun-filled science and art camp, featuring activities that integrate science with art and various applications. The project will explore the work of notable scientists such as Al-Khwarizmi, Al-Farabi, Avicenna, Al-Biruni, Ali Qushji, Akşemseddin, Marie Curie, Eratosthenes, Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Aziz Sancar, Galileo, Maria Montessori, Hezarfen Ahmed Çelebi, Oktay Sinanoğlu, Canan Dağdeviren, and Feryal Özel.
