Grain Harvest Carried Out in Partnership with Muş Alparslan University and Yıldız Agricultural Enterprise

Within the scope of the protocol signed between Muş Alparslan University and Yıldız Agricultural Enterprise, the harvests of the cereal trials carried out in Yıldız Agricultural Enterprise land were completed in accordance with scientific principles.

Wheat, barley and triticale trials consisting of a total of 90 plots with 3 replications, each consisting of 10 varieties with different characteristics, established by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karaman, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Department of Crop Production and Technologies, in the 2022-2023 production season in the Yıldız Agricultural Enterprise land in Muş province, were harvested on 20 July 2023.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Karaman stated that this study, which is carried out scientifically in the ecological conditions of Muş, has completed its second year and field observations and measurements have been completed, and that studies are continuing for post-harvest quality analysis. He also stated that the scientific results to be obtained after all the studies related to the trials are completed will contribute to the producers of the region.

On the other hand, Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences Prof. Dr. Yaşar Karadağ stated that scientific studies have been continuing meticulously and without slowing down in order to determine the varieties compatible with the region since 2019 within the Department of Plant Production and Technologies, and at the same time, physiology and morphology studies are carried out in accordance with these trials.  Karadağ stated that different parameters are the subject of research in scientific studies, and stated that the determination of varieties suitable for the region, productive and of remarkable quality is among the goals of their work as a faculty.  Karadağ also conveyed his wishes that these scientific studies, which will shed light on the scientists and producers of our region and our country, especially Muş, will be beneficial.

Karadağ ended his speech by expressing his thanks to our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican for supporting the studies carried out within the scope of the subject.
