"Today, as students of Muş Alparslan University, we are graduating with a lot of knowledge and experience we have accumulated, and we are leaving our university, which we know as our family." She started her speech by saying "University years are undoubtedly very meaningful and very special for everyone. However, for us MAUN students, it is much more meaningful and special. Because we were not just students here, we were a family here." He added. Güzel thanked their professors who supported them in every subject throughout their student life.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican, who came together with the students at the general graduation ceremony, said in his speech: "Welcome to the graduation ceremony of Muş Alparslan University for the 2022-2023 academic year. Founded on 29 May 2007 with the law published in the Official Gazette, our university is now a strong university that has left its 16th year behind and has made significant progress and has reached a remarkable point in building its own tradition. I would like to emphasise that it is a great honour to be able to address you here today as the Rector of Muş Alparslan University. In this respect, I would like to express my gratitude to our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has given me the greatest honour of my life and the opportunity to achieve the happiness of the world and the hereafter by entrusting me with this duty. In the 2022-2023 academic year, we had 12,750 active students at our university. We are graduating 1,800 of these students today. However, with the new students who will come to our university in the 2023-2024 academic year, we will increase the number of students and hopefully increase this figure to 15,000.
We want to ensure that Muş Alparslan University works within the framework of a vision that basically takes from the historical, cultural and economic values of the region where it is located and carries the local to the national and the national to the universal. On this basis, our main goals will be to make Malazgirt and Muş, the apple of our Turkey's eye and the triangle point where the personification of our nation's personality is embodied, a historical and cultural destination; in addition to this, our main goals will be to develop the agriculture and livestock sectors, which are the basic opportunities and riches of our region. Rector Alican, addressing the students, said: “Dear students, there are and will be both positive and negative things in a person's life. This is the most immutable law of our creation. Our life is shaped by what we accumulate and what we focus on. In this sense, I advise you, as your elder brother, to always focus on positive things and accumulate beauty.”
Man is a short-lived being and his days are numbered. But in this short life, he is equipped with the will to leave permanent traces that can last for centuries. Therefore, to spend these few days with negativity, despair or useless work is to waste the blessing of life given to us. In this sense, I advise you to be very careful and vigilant, and not to spend even a single minute of your time, which is your most precious treasure, with uselessness."
Mayor Feyat Asya expressed his happiness to be with the students on this beautiful day and thanked all the rectors who contributed to the university, especially the founding rector. Deputy Governor Hasan Taş wished the graduates lifelong success.
After the speeches, diplomas and gifts were presented to the students who graduated from undergraduate and associate degree programmes. The General Graduation Ceremony ended with a collective photo shoot after Zeynep Güzel, who graduated as the 1st place of the university, nailed her name to the graduation log.
